A Bavarian type stein, produced circa 1900 ~1920.
Verse on the sides reads: "Im Krug zum grünen Kranse da kehrt ich durstig ein, da saß ein Wandrer drinnen am Tisch beim kühlen Wein".
The decoration on the front is a transfer print depiction of the verse.
There is no maker's mark. The base is marked with a capital 'S'.
The stein has a metal lid with a pewter thumbrest and hinge.
Height excluding the lid is 19,5m. Base diameter is circa 10,5cm. Capacity mark: 1L
