A nice porcelain character stein of 4 men sharing one umbrella. The umbrella is the pewter lid.
The stein has a litopane in the bottom. The side of the tang is marked N.B.M., for Nathan Bauernfreund in Munich, the pewterer [link] The mark is found on more pieces by Schierholz, so although the stein itself is not marked Schierholz, this is a strong indication that it is indeed by that manufacturer.
