This memorable beer mug was released in honor of the 249th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps Corps (USMC), which was celebrated on November 10, 2024. The mug was manufactured in 2024 especially to this date by limited circulation in Germany at WW Team - Bierkrüge & Geshchenke GmbH (WW-Team). For the years White this German factory of ceramic products produces collectible beer mugs within special historical series. Among the famous series of WW-Team: history of military equipment Germany, history of the arms of Germany, history of German architecture, historical personality. At a certain stage, WW-Team was interested in the U.S. defense Ministry. As a result, the Arsenal of the product line of WW-Team appeared series dedicated to the history of the U.S. armed forces. One of them was a series dedicated to USMC history.
This particular beer mug is dedicated to the III MEF. The III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) is the main operational unit of the United States Marine Corps, forward-based, headquartered on Okinawa Island, Japan (Camp Courtney). It acts as the core of the joint rapid reaction force in the Indo-Pacific region. III MEF is a balanced grouping that includes ground, aviation, and logistics units.:
The 3rd Marine Division is the main ground combat force.
1st Marine Aircraft Wing (1st Marine Aircraft Wing) — aviation support.
3rd Marine Logistics Group (3rd Marine Logistics Group) — provision and supply.
The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) is a ship-based permanent readiness unit.

In 2006, the United States and Japan decided to make a partial transfer of American Marines from the Japanese Island of Okinawa to Guam. The key phase of this process was scheduled for 2024. In December 2024, the U.S. officially started a partial withdrawal of Marine units from Okinawa to the new base "camp Blaz" (Camp Blaz) on Guam. Initially, it was planned to move about 4,000 soldiers. The same "road map" of the US armed forces reorganization in Japan assumed a reduction in the contingent on Okinawa for 9,000 people with redistribution to Guam, Hawaii and Australia. At the end of 2025, reports appeared that the Pentagon decided to abandon the withdrawal of the forces (in particular, one Regiment of about 4,000 people). The decision to leave part of the troops on Okinawa instead of sending them to Guam Pentagon justified the need to contain China's growing influence in the region and protect Taiwan. Given these events, for USMC 2024, to some extent, it really became historical.
The center of the mug is decorated with a metal replica of a commemorative award medallion. The original medallion was made on the occasion of the 249th anniversary of the USMC to be presented to the Marines stationed in Okinawa. This medallion became a commemorative gift issued specifically for the annual Marine Corps ball, which took place in November 2024 on the island of Okinawa, Japan.
The Eagle, Globe and Anchor (EGA) symbol, the official emblem of the United States Marine Corps, is depicted in the center of the medallion. The medallion's rim lists the key units of the Third Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) stationed in Okinawa: 1st MAW (aviation), 3D MLG (logistics), 3D MARDIV (division) and 3D MEB (Expeditionary Brigade).
Officially the III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) The United States deployed to Camp Courtney in Okinawa, Japan, in April 1971. Although initially, US Marine Corps units had been operating in Okinawa since the Battle of the island in 1945. It was III MEF (at that time, III MAF) that settled there in the early 1970s.
To the right of the mug's handle is a list of military operations in which military personnel of the III MEF from bases in Okinawa took part. The rest of the free part of the beer mug surface is covered with images of chevrons and other symbols of the III MEF structural units based in Okinawa.
