This stoneware stein was made by Hauber & Reuther in the Freising factory 1882-1886. It has the HR logo and a 4 or 5mm mold number (131) on the base, quality control and designer's mark. But it is missing the "geseztlich geschutst" mark. It has the proper 1/2L capacity mark with the serif on the top of the capital L. It has a three-ring open hinge, the stein body is about 5-1/2" tall and about 7-1/4" to the top of the thumb lift. It has Hoffen und Mulz Gottenhall's (Hops and malt, may God preserve them.) On the top of the lid it has fancy letters, possibly FEC? And on the lower front side of the lid Andenken an B.M. (In memory of B.M.)
