This is one of a sort of subdivision of Cold War steins. They feature a sport, most often bowling, and are often an award stein. Sometimes they're named to a person and sometimes not. The top front banner of dthis stein reads "50th TAC (Tactical Air Command) Fighter Wing". The 50th TFW was activated in 1941 and plays a significant rolo in USAF history. In the middle of the front is the patch of the 50th TFW. The front bottom banner reads "Hahn Air Base Germany". Hahn was a major USAF base in Germany (close to Lautzenhausen) for over forty years. The 50th TFW was it's main unit. The left side of the stein is blank. The right side features a transfer of two men ingaged in a throw. Above this is "Varsity Judo" and velow it is "1967 1968, The word varsity is used in school settings and leads me to beleave that this was given to the members of a school Judo team, likely a high school, So it was given to the son of the USAF member.
