Historical context.
The Bevo Mill building itself was built in 1916 by the founder of the American brewing company Anheuser-Busch, August A. Bush, Sr., as a luxury Dutch-style restaurant. It got its name in honor of the non-alcoholic malt drink "Bevo", which Anheuser-Busch produced during Prohibition in the USA. Today, the building is a protected historical landmark.
