Cold War Stein

Uit de verzameling van Randy Satterfield

The top front of the stein names it to Ken Metzger. The middle has the standard symbol of ordnance with the banner "39th Ordnance Company (Field Maintainvce)". The bottom of the front gives the location and 1956. The location gave me some trouble. It appears to say Derbun France. Therre is no Derbun but there is a small town named Derban. However as it turns out the 39th Ordnance Co served in Verdun France. The left side has the insignia of the United States Army. The right side I have been unable to locate. It appears to be French due to the fluer de lis and the red, white, and blue colors (French flag). But it looks nothing like the coats of arms of either Derban or Verdun. Another element on this stein which isn't common among Cold War steins is a music box in the base. I has no lithophane.,
