The lid says R.Z. The bottom has the number: 227
German text with the meaning:
* God bless you, it wasn't meant to be

Made by Simon Peter Gerz, catalog no 227.Probably made about 1900. Search Beer Stein library online and put numbers found on bottom of stein in search box. Values shown on the BSL site are at least 25% too high, and would be retail prices not selling prices…
