A flute player in the 18th century

Uit de verzameling van Paulo Vik Falcon

Replica of the product of the middle of the XVIII century with the image of a musician playing the flute.
At the beginning of the 19th century, the production of beer mugs from earthenware in Germany completely stopped. This happened because porcelain production became more affordable. At the same time, porcelain is a much more practical material than earthenware.
Nevertheless, by the end of the 19th century, a craving for objects of the last century had formed. There was a request for the production of replicas of ceramic mugs from a previous era.
They began to be produced as souvenirs and for collecting.
This mug is one of them.
