Stein is in good condition; signs of use, but not abuse.

1L. and calibration marks top/front

Cast pewterer's mark on underside of lid

Ferdinand Glas Weisßenburgerstraße 40, (ground floor) Munich. Bavaria. Zinngießerei. / Pewterer. Known dates: Circa 1914 - 1931. Purchased stein bodies from: Martin Pauson.

Open 5 ring hinge began to be used around 1895. See reference in description section.

Five Ring Hinge.

It’s a lot easier when you just see a Mettlach, Marzi Remi or other mark on the base, but that would be too easy, and not as much learning or fun.

“URALTER BIERKRUG JOSEF SEDLMAYR LEISTBRÄU MÜNCHEN BIER BRAUEREI 1L”

Stein Features:
1L. capacity and calibration marks top/front.
Open five (5) ring hinge. Began to be used in 1895 to present. See ref. below.
Pewter lid with ball thumblift.
“F. GLAS MUNCHEN” cast underneath lid. Ferdinand Glas, Pewterer. Known dates: Circa 1914 - 1931.
F. GLAS Purchased stein bodies from: Martin Pauson.
No potter’s turn lines around the outside body of stein.

Condition:
Pewter lid has some oxidation.
Body of stein has no damage, does show signs of use, but only adds to its character and age.
Original pewter lid sits tightly.
