Wartburg Brau Steinkrug

Really fancy lettering design

The black letters are shadowed with a very pretty light blue color. Pictures are improving, but still fall short.

Beautiful pewter lid with detailed relief design. Notice brewery name - very cool!

Acorn thumblift — 0,4L. and calibration marks

PAUSON

Excellent condition

MUNCHEN

It was made in Sarrguemines, France.

Hard to make out “Sarrguemines”

Rare Wartburg-Brau Brauerei Steinkrug

Original owner’s description: “ Rare German Wartburg-Brau Brewery Pewter Lidded Bier Stein - 1930s”.

“1930’s German Wartburg-Brau Brewery stein with original brewery pewter lid. Wartburg Castle is where Martin Luther wrote his thesis that he tacked to the cathedral door. It is in very good clean and undamaged condition. It was made in Sarrguemines, in Northeastern France. The strap is tight and the tang is firmly affixed to the lid. It has an acorn finial.”

Very cool history about the Sarrguemines here: [link]

I always welcome and appreciate additional information you may have. Thanks!
