Simon Peter Gerz made steins 1862-1999. This "art nouveau Design" stein is about 6" tall and has a 0.5L capacity mark and mold number 1424. No Gerz logo or Germany. art nouveau design started around 1880, but became popular 1890-1910. In 1887 it was required to have Germany or Made in Germany on all exports. Possibly it was sold in Germany and found it's way to the USA.
