This is an orginal shot glass from the famed SS United States....the fastest ocean liner to cross the Atlantic each way!
Her maiden voyage was on July 3, 1952....Final voyage was in late 1969.
Nicknamed "The Big U", many celebrities traveled on the famous liner, including: Marilyn Monroe, Bob Hope, future President JFK and wife Jackie, Elizabeth Taylor, Salvador Dali, Sean Connery, and former Presidents Truman and Eisenhower, just to name a few.
I wonder if any of these celebrities drank out of this very shot glass????....
This shot glass is one of the 57,000 pieces of glassware that was onboard the ship while in service.
