An old man is sitting at a table. His pipe in his hand, and in front of him stands a nice stein of beer.

The verse on this stein by Hauber & Reuther reads "Ein guter Trunk macht Alte jung", which translates as 'A good drink makes the old young again'.

It is a 1/2 liter capacity stein. The decoration on the front of the stein is in the technique we call 'etched'. The rest of the stein's body is decorated in relief.

The height of this stein, excluding the lid, is 14.4 centimeters. The stein was produced in the last quarter of the 19th century.
