CUSTOM ORDERED PAINTINGS

Hauber & Reuther offered custom painted steins to their customers as did August Saeltzer. While some are quite good the over all quality of most HR paintings wasn't up to that of Saeltzer pieces but they must have had their following just the same as evidenced by the number of pieces that have survived. Wherever HR steins were sold there must have been catalogs showing the various body styles that were available along with a representation of the paintings one could order applied to their stein. What a find one of these catalogs would be. Of course it is also possible that these were not made to order. Perhaps the distributors, and retailers, took whatever the factory supplied. NOTE: Only the decor numbers are listed, not the model numbers.
