The official team colors and logos are depicted on the mug, and the years of Stanley Cup victories are indicated on the back.

The mug was made in 1996.
Historically, Boston has rarely signed Russians, but over the years they have played for the team.:
Sergey Samsonov (1997-2006) is one of the most successful Russians in the club's history, winner of the 1998 Calder Trophy.
Sergey Gonchar (2003-2004) — spent part of the season in Boston before the lockout.
Dmitry Orlov (born 2023) is a defender who played for the club after being traded from Washington.
Anton Khudobin (2011-2013, 2016-2018) is a goalkeeper who returned to the team twice.
Stanislav Chistov (2006-2007) is a striker who has played 60 matches per season.
The club also has a striker in the system Georgy Merkulov, who was involved in games for the main team in previous seasons, but more often plays for a farm club in the AHL.
The current Boston Bruins squad (2025/26 season) consists of two Russian hockey players.:
Nikita Zadorov (#91, defender) is one of the key defensive players. In the 2025/26 regular season, he scored 22 points (2 goals and 20 assists) in 81 games and became the NHL's most undisciplined player for the second consecutive season, earning 152 penalty minutes. He plays for Boston on a six-year contract signed in the summer of 2024.
Marat Khusnutdinov (#92, center forward) — joined the Boston Bears and is included in the team's main roster for the current season.
