Collectible beer mug made of porcelain "King Ludwig II of Bavaria". The mug is decorated with a portrait of Ludwig II in a military uniform. The design of the mug includes a classic Bavarian pattern in the form of white and blue diamonds and an image of the royal crown above the portrait. The bottom of the cup is executed in the lithophany technique. This is the art of creating a relief pattern in fine porcelain, which becomes visible only when viewed through the light. In this case, lithophania shows a portrait of Ludwig II.
The mug was made in 1986 to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of the legendary and most famous king of Bavaria. This commemorative mug was provided with a special certificate. It contains a record of the following content: "Ludwig II, 1845-1886
The "Fairy-tale king", the grandson of Ludwig I, personifies for us today, 100 years after his death, the fantastic era of Bavarian history. His love belonged to art and beauty, and we owe him the construction of "fairy castles". Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, and Herrenkimsee, as well as the construction of the Bayreuth Festival Theater." The personal monogram of Ludwig II is invented under the text. The same monogram can be seen on the inner surface of the skirt of the mug. Here, the royal monogram is bordered by a gold-colored ribbon. On the left side of the ribbon is the date of birth of Ludwig II — August 25, 1845 (Aug. 25. 1845), on the right side — the date of death, June 13, 1886 (June 13, 1886). At the bottom of the tape it is written in German: "LUDWIG II. KOENIG v. BAYERN" (Ludwig II, King of Bavaria).
The departure of Ludwig II from life was shrouded in secrets. He drowned in 1886 under mysterious circumstances in Lake Starnberg. There is a version about the violent death of the king.
