A beautiful half-liter beer stein, its body crafted from dark brown and light beige marbled stoneware, delicately decorated with hop leaves and cones (rarely seen, as oak leaves are the most common decoration). The leaves are accented with platinum, adding to the stein uniqueness. This stein belongs to Mettlach's earliest collection of mugs, the so-called Tree-Trunk. These mugs, molded to resemble natural bark, feature vine, leaf, and gnome motifs, are characterized by earthy tones, and were part of the company's "Earlyware Relief" line before its Golden Age.
The handle is shaped like an oak branch. The original pewter lid features a thumb rest, a stoneware inlay with relief and leaf decoration. Mold number 368 is embossed on the bottom in a distinctive symbol used from 1851 to approximately 1873. Height with thumb rest: 17 cm, diameter at base: 9.5 cm.
Beautiful and rare
