This large shaped beer mug "Munich Child" has a capacity of 0.75 liters. The mug was made at the porcelain factory "Porzellanfabrik Sandizell G.m.b.H. & Co. K.G.". The shape of this mug was developed in 1951, at the same time as Höffner (German - Höffner) opened his business in the small town of Sandizell (Upper Bavaria). There were no problems finding skilled workers, as many people from Thuringia had moved to Bavaria after the formation of the German Democratic Republic in 1949. Since many of the designers and decorators hired by Höffner were skilled in creating Dresden-style items and decor, the small company quickly began producing a wide range of Dresden-style figurines and souvenirs.
Since the Höffner family business did not focus on marketing, very little was known about the company or its origins. This has led to difficulties and misunderstandings that today largely affect the presentation and appreciation of its products. For example, the company has long used various brands that some have considered imitations of older brands (e.g., Dresden, Capodimonte, etc.), leading many sellers and dealers to label it as a copycat or a master reproducer. Even if the marking is far from copying one of the company's mentioned marks, many have tried to pass off Sandizell products as "original antique Dresden products," which is, of course, incorrect.
This leads to a paradox: while many claim that Sandizell-marked products are cheap nonsense, most unidentified or misattributed porcelain items look good enough to pass off as "original Dresden products." Source of information on the link: [Link]
A unique study of the history of this porcelain factory is presented on the PM&M portal. Here is just a small part of it. When compared with items from other manufacturers from the same period the Sandizell items are not better or worse than items made by any other (mostly overrated) company. Probably because of the reputation the company had it eventually ran into difficulties and there are traces of a Porzellanfabrik Sandizell Beteiligungs-GmbH which indicates the company for a time was run by a trustee until it finally was re-established as Porzellanfabrik Sandizell GmbH & Co. KG which at least until December 2006 was operational under proprietor Mrs. Sylvia Werner, however the company completely closed near March 2008.
