A bright and very old beer mug was made by the masters of the Karl Diesinger & Adolph Diesinger manufactory in the period of 1890-1900.
In the Diesinger catalog, the shape of this mug is given the number 755. The mug was decorated with a pattern that, according to the author's intention, should attract attention not by its content but by the style of its execution. This is one of the characteristics of the art nouveau style.
The mug's facade features a moderate relief depicting a woman and a man. The placement of their arms and legs shows that they are clearly not positioned for a continuation of the dance. In fact, the image of "woman and man" on the facade of this mug was supposed to convey the message that it is the best gift for couples in love.
The inscription on the left side of the handle is the beginning of a phrase that is written on the right side of the handle. On this mug, the combined phrase reads: "Ein kluger se cher stecht sich fein den Schlüssel vom Haus Früh Morgens ein." Translated, this means: "A clever boy picks up the key to the house early in the morning."
