The owner of the mug had his initials, G.K., engraved on the rim of the lid.

This old German mug was made using the technique of blowing glass into a mold. The surface of the mug has a deep relief pattern with repeating geometric shapes. The capacity mark is engraved on the front of the mug. This is a Regensburg style. It is likely that the mug was made in one of the Regensburg glass workshops.
However, it does not indicate the capacity size.
After the unification of Germany on January 1, 1872, a law on a unified system of measures, weights, and volumes was enacted.
This suggests that the mug was likely made between 1870 and 1880.
The ceramic insert of the lid has a pattern with flowers and an inscription. The inscription reads: "Where flowers bear fruit, may all the sorrows of love disappear."
