The drawing on the mug is signed with an old Bavarian proverb: "Froher Sinn, gesundes Blut sind mehr wert als Geld und Gut". The proverb translates as follows: The feeling of happiness and healthy blood are more valuable than money and property.
The mug features a painting by the famous Austrian artist Franz Von defregger (1835-1921) called "The Tyrolean Salon".
defregger worked mainly in the genres of portrait and everyday scenes from the lives of Tyrolean peasants. However, defregger's fame was established by a series of paintings dedicated to the Tyrolean Uprising of 1809 and its leader, Andreas Hofer. The artist excelled in creating monumental and energetic paintings.
