This large stone mug belongs to the Ceramic Workshops manufactory by Otto Kobeke. The full name of the company is "
Ceramic workshops (Otto Kobeke) Munich-Herrsching, AG".
The town of Herrsching am Ammersee is located near Munich (Bavaria).
The company was engaged in the production of artistic ceramics.
Keramische Werkstätten München-Herrsching was founded in 1909 by Otto Koebke. It participated at the Bavarian Industrial Exhibition in 1912 and had some well known artistic directors including Clara von Ruckteschell-Truëb. Julius von Guldbrandsen took over the company in 1923, making it an A.G. and fulfilled the role of Artistic Director, His Curriculum Vitae included designing for Porzellanfabrik Ph. Rosenthal & Co. AG, Selb, Bavaria, whom he joined in 1910. He was previously at the Königliche Porzellanmanufaktur, Copenhagen. Another designer who worked for Keramische Werkstätten München-Herrsching was Adelbert Niemeyer. The company closed in 1929.

The body of this mug was painted by designer Julius von Guldbrandsen.
Guldbrandsen, Julius-Vilhelm
(*1896 Stagelsee, †1960 Humblebaek).
After an apprenticeship as a decorative painter, the Danish art and porcelain painter Julius-Vilhelm Guldbrandsen attended the Copenhagen Art School and subsequently studied in Dresden, Nuremberg and Vienna.
In 1909, he joined the Rosenthal company and served as artistic director of the art department at the Selb factory from 1910 to 1924. He created numerous designs for decorative and everyday porcelain and introduced, among other things, new color techniques for underglaze painting. His most famous product for Rosenthal was the "Hawthorn Service" (1910).
After 1924, Guldbrandsen worked for Hutschenreuther in Selb, and from 1936 onward, he attempted his own earthenware production in Herrsching am Ammersee. Guldbrandsen also worked as a teacher and headed the copying department at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Copenhagen. © Königsdorfer Medienhaus, Frechen (René Zey).
