Makes me wonder whether this steinkrug was served with beer during the historic events of the period. I’ll never know, but I am lucky to hold another piece of history that must be preserved, shared, and enjoyed.

Based on what I have read so far, I am guessing this stein was produced before December 28, 1921, when the Bürgerliche Brauhaus was merged with Löwenbräu. Also, since it has the Merklebach & Wick, Grenzhausen, B. Coblenz ink stamp, no later than 1921 makes sense.

There is an engraving inside the lid —- thanks Paul for helping me identify it.
