Johann Baptist Stahl created the design for this impressive large wall plaque, produced by Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach.
There are two different designs, both carrying mold number 2875. One design shows three figures symbolic of art, and the other shops three figures symbolic of industry.
The Mettlach Book (g. Kirsner 2004) lists these plaques with mold numbers 2874 and 2875. However, it could be an error, since I have seen only mold number 2875 used on these plaques, even though they had the two different scene designs.
