FREISING/HR/GERZ MANUFACTURED OWLS

Freising Model NMN - Owl

HR Model 64 - Owl

Gerz Model NMN - Owl

The owl on the left has no marks except an upper case, cursive "L" scratched into the bottom linking it to the pre-HR Freising factory. Mike Wald pictured this stein, or one just like it, in his June, 1990, Prosit article. The owl in the middle has all the requisite HR marks. It has a "type 1a" incised logo, a small font "64" model number, an omega shaped "Q.C." mark, and a lower case, cursive "b" decorator's initial. The owl on the right carries no identifying marks other than the capacity mark which is that of the Gerz factory. The fact that this owl exists would suggest that there are unreported owls out there with the "type 4" HR logo.
